My aunt took me to Ximending district when I visited with my family. She says this is where the teens hanging out. Lots of shopping and food! I picked up some clothes when I was here.Recommended for:

Ximending district is popular with youth as there are many things to shop for and plenty of restaurants, cafes and eateries to choose from. Most visitors would come here for Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle, BBQ Mochi and Modern Toilet Restaurant.

I used to go here all the time and see movies. Great vibe to the place. There are usually a few hiphop enthusiasts with stereos who will call out people to dance. Crowds gather, and they will go to work showing their moves. One of them pulled me into the circle and we had a dance off, all in good fun. Lots of memories here.

It has awesome food, awesome clothes & the shop owner gave me discounts when i went to buy their clothes! It's a place for young people to shop all they want. You can find loads of small food stalls while shopping around, no worries about your empty stomach or thirsty throat.
Their 阿宗面线(Ah Chung Mee Sua), is a must try! It's TWD45 for a small bowl!
Do check out their 牛奶雪花冰 TWD80 & 牛奶雪花冰+芒果 TWD160. It's nice and refreshing after a long walk!

This place is great to go and shop for all types of knickknacks. A bit more expensive than what you would find at the night markets but a fun place to go to shop. Its one of my go to places to shop in Taipei! It also gets very lively at night and there are tons of food carts around.

Great area for shopping for souveniors! Considered to be the shinjuku district of Taipei, it is definitely a crazy experience. If you are not comfortable with crowds, it would be best to go during the weekdays in the afternoon or evenings. Weekends can get quite crowded.

If you like shopping, 4 stars. If you just want to visit interesting places, 3 stars. Other than shops and restaurants, there's not much else to offer. But it's still fun to walk around the streets and see what's here. But it's just as crowded as Myeongdong (well... maybe not AS bad. Myeongdong can become hell on the weekends or at night), so if you don't like being around lots of people, DON'T come!
