2.5 Stars. Not all 24 hour Fitness are created equal.
PROS: Hands down best 24 hour fitness in LA/ Pasadena area
Cannot beat free parking garage
Great gym (during off peak times)
Classes are excellent!
Basketball court is awesome when you can get in there.
Staff is friendly and you can ask them to change the TV channels.
A lot of TVs showing sports.
CONS: Locker room/ bathroom is horrible even by gym standards. A lot of times lost the need to go #1 or #2 after on whiff of the locker room (while holding my breath).
This gym seems to always busy no matter what time of day or night.
The quality of the workout machines are okay.
Some members are not courteous, do not re-rack weights, or care about person hygiene.
Workout area is a bit dusty may cause you to sneeze.
The review first I read staying "Who farted?" describes the place perfectly. Not the best 24 hour, but still the best option in the area. If this place was slightly cleaner, less busy, and members took showers. I would give a higher rating.Recommended for:

This 24 Hour Fitness is similar to the new one in Arcadia on 1st. It is almost brand new construction and has a 3 story garage built next to it. It is a 2 story design similar to many of the new construction 24 hour gyms in the chain.
This one is on the border with Pasadena, and is actually in West Altadena. It is near the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, and not far from Juhn Muir School, home of the Spartans.
This is a Magic Johnson Signature "Sport", so it has virtually all the amenities, including all the equipment, adequate space for everything, new lockers, and a large Group X and full Basketball court.
The lap pool only has 2 lanes, whereas Arcadia has 3. It is across the street from a down home BBQ and Rib place, so you can come here after you digest your grease. There is also a new multistore retail space next door, but it is virtually empty. Nearby the neighborhood is lower middle class, with many smaller 2 bedroom type single family homes.
The members are a mix of a little bit of everything, although most are younger and active, rather than an older crowd. The facility is nice, but I think they are looking to boost membership, as it isn't very crowded, which if you go here, is a good thing, unless they decide to close it for lack of making money.
