40 Berkeley Hostel

40 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA 02116, United States
2 reviews

A good hostel if you're on a budget. Rooms are on a shared basis and there are male and female toilets and showers on each floor. Breakfast was very basic (cereals, toast etc) but was good considering it is included in the low price. I recommend asking at reception for discount tickets to local attractions (such as New England Aquarium) ...

Providing entertainment for a whooping 100k audiences each summer is no small feat and attending a Shakespeare on the Commons is to witness this feat in full force. During the hours of the play, the grass surrounding the stage is transformed into a sea of blankets and chairs, this is where Bostonians come together on a night to enjoy culture ...

    Freedom Trail

0.81 mi from 40 Berkeley Hostel
    64 reviews

As a kid, the Freedom Trail just seemed like another "museum stop" that my dad would drag me to, but as an adult I've come to appreciate the unique way it educates people about Boston. The 2.5 mile red trail leads you to roughly 16 different historic sites downtown, and can be self-guided or led by a tour guide (often ...

A combination of a library and a museum with gorgeous interior architecture. Another popular place for a tourist to go...honestly I wasn't that excited about the building. Just felt like another place to look at because every tourist went there. Maybe it wasn't for me? It was nice to see the first time but I don't see myself coming back ...

    John Hancock Tower

0.28 mi from 40 Berkeley Hostel
    10 reviews

One of the city's iconic buildings, and located in a nice area to walk around. This tower was designed by IM Pei's firm, and is still remembered around the city for the engineering problems when it first went up, where the glass panels detached and crashed to the sidewalk below. Luckily, this doesn't happen anymore!
