Great! Smart, good cocktails and entertainingly camp. Can't go wrong on 40th or hen night! People watching is not to be beat, and the staff is friendly if not as well plugged in with reception as you might want.

This is a fantastic cocktail bar with a real pride in the product they deliver. I cannot recommend the house martini (if you like them). It is a real work of theatre and a sensory experience. I also had the bloody maria which was also excellent. Expensive but worth it.

It really is quite majestic. Also, take the open-top bus tour (from any of the tour stands). You can get on and off again on the same ticket. That way if you get to a location you want to check out more, you just hop off, wander a bit, and catch on the next tour bus. Also, if you take ...

Harrods is so much a part of London that even a non-shopper has to go there. Tea room makes nice restful break during day of sightseeing. Feels so British.

The largest of the royal parks with lots to see and do. If you are feeling particularly brave, try going for a swim in the Serpentine. As a useless fact, this is actually the dammed up River Westbourne, one of the small rivers that flow into the Thames (and can also be seen at Sloane Square Tube Station).

Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace

0.79 mi from 47 Park Street - Marriott Grand Residence Club
    103 reviews

We watched the Buckingham Palace "Changing of the Guard" and it's much more than a handful of soldiers replacing another handful of soldiers. It's full of traditional British pomp and pageantry, with drums and brass instruments a blazing. It is an amazing experience that one will long remember!

Every year millions of Londoners and tourists visit The Green Park, the smallest of the capital's eight Royal Parks. Comprising just over 40 acres of mature trees and grassland next to Buckingham Palace, the peaceful triangle between Piccadilly and Constitution Hill offers a popular location for picnics and sunbathing in fine weather.

Level after level of stunning displays! On my first trip to London I visited Harrod's but I really preferred Selfridges. I tried "tea" in both locations and though Harrod's had an extensive tea collection and a fancy tea room I like the scones and atmosphere better here.

I am a big fan of "hop-on/hop-off" bus tours. It's the best way to get oriented with a new city. The tour ticket gives you access to a Thames River cruise, a visit to the Tower of London and a walking tour. You should definitely check it out.

I just loved walking around saying to myself, "Hey, I'm on Carnaby Street!" It's such an iconic image from my past, Twiggy, the Beatles and the fashion world of the sixties. There are some neat little shops, and when I was there a unicycle riding juggler. You might like that, or perhaps not.

Regent Street is the Rodeo drive of London. It is the very epicenter of the shopping district. When we were there right before Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, they had the British flag, the Union Jack, hanging everywhere.
