There as an excellent array of retail stores all over Manhattan, but 5th Ave is the heartbeat of all the retail shopping in this borough. One of the best stores is the Apple store. It was once a center for purchasing innovation and now it's also a landmark where people stop by to at least take pictures of the best designed Apple Store in the United States.

I feel like I'm in a movie when I'm on 5th Avenue. All the shops, the glitz and the people; it's what I grew up watching, yet it seems strange actually visiting the place. Anyone visiting New York City owes it to themselves to stroll down 5th Avenue at least once!

I always feel rich just walking down the street. In NY you can be one of such a huge crowd, yet feel completely alone! 5th Avenue is a great place to window shop, and people watch! During the holidays it can get very crowded...the lines for Abercrombie & Fitch wrapped around the building, as well as Hollister, but definitely worth walking...at least once! The sparkle and shine are breathtaking!

It's the NYC answer to Paris Champs, Moscow GUM, etc. etc. The list goes on, and nothing really varies - it's a long line of expensive retail at prices to expect. It's not original nor new, save some on the lower end of the ave. where the new designers live. At the same time, its a cool place to visit (once) and an easy answer to any shopping needs.
