I came here a little innebriated from the news of the day. My husband and I were engaged earlier in the day at Dia Beacon and we came to 60 Thompson to stay and celebrate at the restaurant Kitty Chai. From what I can remember, the boutique hotel experience was perfect and didn't trip off any complications in any way so that my special day went on in complete elation.

Understated elegance is 60 Thompson's forté. Set among hip art galleries, trendy boutiques, and great cafés, the hotel feels very chic and exclusive. The floors are completely peaceful at all times, and the place almost feels like a residential building. The rooms are carpeted, and the color scheme is a lush, golden brown. The marble bathroom looks kind of tacky to me, but I appreciate the fact that they use Kiehl's products. If you can afford it, the penthouse suite is absolutely stunning. A two-floor loft, the penthouse offers access to a private balcony and rooftop deck that offers gorgeous views of downtown Manhattan. The rooftop bar is open only to guests and members, which adds to the hotel's exclusive feel. Where most hotels offer safe/bland American cuisine, Kittichai, 60 Thompson's restaurant, designs cutting-edge Thai cuisine. 60 Thompson goes against the grain in all respects, but manages to remain cool and unassuming.
World-class, contemporary Thai cuisine is offered for lunch and dinner at Kittichai, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. From the creators of New York's renowned Indochine and Bond Street, Kittichai also provides 24-hour room service and designs the menu at 60 Thompson's exclusive rooftop bar, a60. Open only to guests and members, a60 overlooks SoHo with breathtaking views of the Empire State Building. The hotel also has a bar and lounge called Thom Bar, which has live DJs nightly starting at 10 pm and hosts a live Cuban night every Sunday. Other amenities include complimentary concierge service, a 24-hour complimentary fitness center, WiFi access (at $14.95 per day) and valet laundry service (fees apply).
All rooms are furnished with a large LCD flat-screen TV, an iPod docking station, a mini-bar featuring Dean & Deluca gourmet snacks, custom-made 400 thread count SFERRA linens, and lush, oversized terrycloth robes by Frette. Each room has a marble bathroom with mosaic floors, and bathroom amenities are provided by Kiehl's. The hotel also offers an 1,800 square feet penthouse suite, with two floors, a private balcony and private roof deck. This suite contains a living room with pull-out sofa, two bathrooms, and a master bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub. Rooms with bathrooms that contain a tub are available upon request. 24-hour room service is catered by Kittichai, 60 Thompson's partner restaurant.
