    Townshend's Alberta Street Teahouse

0.89 mi from Acadia: A New Orleans Bistro
    3 reviews

Townshend's is a teahouse and is unique in coffee-obsessed Portland. Tea connoisseurs will appreciate the options which abound at Townshend's. They even serve bubble tea, but I would avoid it. I asked for red bean bubble tea and it resembled tapioca filled with pepto bismol.

A close friend of mine threw a birthday party at Mimosa. Let me just say it is the cutest pottery studio that I've ever been to. The space is small and compact but filled with art supplies and pots that are waiting to be designed.

    Alberta Street Public House

0.75 mi from Acadia: A New Orleans Bistro
    1 review

Alberta Street Public House is a music venue. You can tell the small concert venue used to be a place for worship due to the aisle seats. It's perfect for a low-key indie folk band interested in performing n front of a small audience.

Lovely atmosphere to enjoy some Oregon wines and some small bites to eat as well. Their pork belly dish is shown in the picture. Cheeses, truffle chips. and citrus marinated olives are also a few things I've tried, though I believe the menu often changes up a bit. Outdoor seating available when the weather is nice. Staff is very informative ...

Whenever I come to Portland, 4 words that I will always hear (among many) are Coffee, Pastries, Beer, and Sustainable. And sometimes on the same block or within the first few minutes of conversation. My son and I were walking along NE Alberta after breakfast and I wandered by The One Stop Sustainability Shop. My son didn't share my shopping ...

Queen Bee Creations has a somewhat small, but comfortable and nicely appointed show room, and from the street, you can see their folks making the bags through the window. The person at the counter was super friendly and I ended up with a nice Maximo wallet to keep change and paperwork for our honeymoon trip to Portugal next week. There ...

Aztec Willie is one of the main places to go salsa dancing in Portland. The dance floor is large enough to accommodate a substantial amount of swinging hipped dancers. The music is a mix of reggaeton, salsa, merengue, and bachata. They also offer salsa lessons too.

Housed in what was once a seedy old brothel, the Sapphire Hotel is now a much classier place to spend your evening (and a good place to take a date). This dark cocktail bar features plush red decor and lots of cleverly-named mixed drinks as well as good, light food. There are jazz performances every Sunday.

My Teenage Son and I had dinner at the Kennedy School one night, of which I watched him devour large quantities of food. That much nutrition would have put me to bed early. However, I knew that he would be hungry again later in the evening. The cool, nearby, and busy New Seasons Market was a must stop. I found ...
