Lion and the Rose Victorian B&B Inn

0.86 mi from Acadia: A New Orleans Bistro

    4 reviews

The statue lions lining the walkway and the wrap around porch of this grand Victorian style house sets it apart from any other house on the street- while the details inside provide for a truly historically charming bed and breakfast. The portraits of the original owners hang above the fireplace and watch you devour the uniqueness of this B&B like ...

I enjoyed my stay at The Nines. The hotel features a lounge/restaurant on the top floor called Departure and a Steakhouse/casual bar on the 5th floor. The room itself was cozy and the decor elevated the relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, the hotel is situated in an hourly primarily known for shopping. I was hoping there would be more food in the ...

I love this place. I think it is so cute they turned the detention room and principal's office into bar areas as well as the amazing boiler room. Not only is it way better for the environment to keep the original building intact but it is such a cool experience. Whenever anyone talks about Portland I always talk about how ...

Where the cool kids stay...curated chic, stumptown in the lobby, cheeky signs, a real deal photobooth (so authentic!), and bikes as landmarks. Certainly interesting from a design and aesthetic standpoint and a counterpoint to the "W"ization of boutique hotel chic, but definitely not geared for comfort (rickety tub, sub-par bed, and an unsealable draft). But I suppose sacrificing comfort for ...

Great price, great location. It's an old motel that looks straight out of the 50's that has been redone and made into a cool modern hipster hotel. There's a great bar and there are always lots of bands playing downstairs. A pretty hip place to stay. Make reservations early though. It books up pretty quickly.

I couldn’t tell if this hotel was new with an old vibe or old with a new vibe, but after closer inspection (and asking a most likely dumb question) I found it’s the latter. Keeping in line with boutique hotels, where the architecture varies room to room, the rooms themselves are upscale, plush, with nice furniture and a comfy feel. ...

Sure it may not be as "cool" or "curated" as the Ace hotel downtown...but it was a hell of a lot more comfortable and a nice gateway to the beauty of Portland's river side.

A modern hotel for a modern era. In fact, that’s how the concierge told me they got their name: Mod-Era = Modera. The artwork is mesmerizing, the garden with fire pits and a “living wall” are intriguing and the young concierges are all really attractive (and that was just what I could see from the lobby!) The rooms themselves don’t ...

Glamorous old Hollywood style surrounds you in this darling boutique hotel. One convenient perk--you can pre-order your room service breakfast. One inconvenience--the heater is a bit tricky to use, and maybe not as terribly effective as one might expect.

This review is for the Hilton meeting space facilities only. During the Convention this week, I actually stayed at The Nines and walked over here several times. I had no less that 3 separate meetings here, all in different sized rooms and with a variety of catering and stair climbing. I didn't have high expectations for "institutional" settings such as ...

For $250 a month, way over price. The hotel is really old and it has a weird smell to it. Make sure you ask for a room on the interior or facing non-voodoo donut side (it's loud from morning to night). Breakfast is included in the price; however, the food was as good as Danny's. You know the feeling you get when a hotel is just trying too hard? That's what the Aloft is in Portland. Pros: close proximity to the airport, cool mod design, lobby-level pool table and bar with live music, 24-hour swimming pool and fitness room. Cons: overrun with kids and dogs, inefficient staff, no bathtubs in the rooms. Amusing to see ...

This is a big bustling, mainly business, Hilton hotel located in the Lloyd Center area of NE Portland close to the Oregon Convention Center, Rose Garden, quite central to the rest of Portland. I've always enjoyed visiting the Sheraton Hotel at Portland Airport. For a relatively large hotel it has an intimate atmosphere ideal for meeting my visiting out-of -state family in the lobby and the restaurant. For a hotel of this size it has an unrushed and warm atmosphere; quite remarkable considering the bustle going on just outside and overhead. The Sheraton ...
