I practically work remotely from the Ace Hotel... it is a cutting edge Ace Hotel which attracts the trendier, more tech-advanced, and social crowd. A perfect spot to nosh and have a business meeting, or grab a drink with a laid-back coworker.

Such a beautiful bar! I'd been planning to check out the Ace Hotel with a friend for a while, and we finally stopped by. I am so glad we did! At 10 PM on a Saturday, it was a little difficult to find 2 seats, but we eventually found some. It took some time to get the waitress' attention as well, but we eventually ordered our cocktails, which were delicious and well made.
The highlight of the bar for me, however, was the music. DJ Huggybear was spinning, and I've been a fan since I heard him at The Tippler, so I was psyched to find him again at the Ace! All in all, a nice, classy spot to impress a date or catch up with a friend or two.
Keep in mind - past 11 PM or so, it becomes harder to get in & there tends to be a line outside. Just sayin'!

I really like the ACE hotel and their lobby is designed for people who want to work in an awesome environment, surrounded by like-minded people. The Breslin at ACE is a great restaurant and the hotel's boutique is pretty great too. I had a meeting in one of the suites at ACE a couple of weeks ago and I was seriously impressed with the space itself and with the overall vibe and personality of the suite and of the entire ACE hotel empire.
One point off for mediocre service the last time I visited.

Ace Hotel has one name but many faces. You can be a traveler from all over the world or just a local to enjoy all the ACE has to offer. From the Stump town coffee, to the Tech Scene, To the huge open lobby to lounge and meet in, to the food, to the unique rooms. Ace hotel is one of the best kept secrets in NYC. Work, Play, Eat, Drink, and hopefully you'll fall in love like I did.

I've never had the pleasure of staying in the Ace Hotel but a friend of mine regularly does so I've spent plenty of time enjoying it. It's deliciously offbeat and attracts a younger more trendy crowd. I've never seen the lobby empty and the rooms have a fantastic aesthetic to each one. The restaurant was a great place to eat although I have to admit I didn't know what most of the items on the menu were.Recommended for:Trendsters

The Ace is such an extremely curated environment, from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms. You know someone has considered every detail. The olde-tymey fixtures in the bathrooms and the army blankets on the comfortable beds, the laptop-and-Stumptown-coffee scene in the lobby (usually packed), and the great dining/drinking options all build into a pretty classy experience.

Very cool place to stay. It's about 4 blocks away from times square and we stayed on the 10th floor. City noise pollution was not a problem.
It has a very hipster, modern, chic kind of feel to it. It's not your typical hotel because it doesn't conform to way most hotels provide amenities. For example, your mini fridge is inside of a black rack box that musicians use to travel with. And the snack bar is way cool, it's stocked with cookies, top ramen, finger foods, wine, beer, liquor, juice, sodas, condoms, and much more. And yes, they even provide you with an electric water boiler!
There is cool art work all throughout the hotel, and the lobby turns into a night club throughout the week and weekend so you don't even have to leave the hotel to have fun.
The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious.

I was a little apprehensive of Ace from some of the reviews online but was pleasantly surprised. Overall the hotel itself was great. I had a medium king room and it was big compared to others I've stayed at in the city. I had read online about the noise coming from the street, including the Islamic center of some sort across the street, but personally had no problem with it at all. Also people complained about the lack of views, but I had a great one of the Empire State Building from room 816. The hotel is convenient to so much, the subway stop isn't too far, and the lobby/lounge seemed like a good atmosphere--though I only had a quick drink the morning I left.
The reasons for only 3 stars: the closest to friendliness I encountered with the staff was a greeting in passing by a maid in the hall. I don't know if this aloof behavior is supposed to be part of the hipster charm, but it certainly caused me to keep any dealings with the staff to a minimum. If you want a cab, I recommend just walking the short distance to Broadway and getting one yourself, a couple times I saw guests waiting quite some time for the doormen to hail one for them. I'm guessing the location of the door is the problem, many would pass by but they were occupied. Finally, I enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, especially a cup before having to deal with aforementioned aloof personalities. So having to go down to Stumptown (which makes a good Americano, coincidentally) and wait in line for 15 or 20 minutes wasn't the best part of waking up.
All in all I wouldn't count Ace out as an option for future trips though, the positives outweigh the negatives.
