Located in the Nob Hill neighborhood is Acquerello, operated by Giancarlo Paterlini and Executive Chef Suzette Gresham. This is one of the finest establishments in San Francisco. Their selection of wine is to die for and the food will simply blow you away. Meals run in the $80-110 range depending on the number of courses.

The attention to detail here is amazing. Something I picked up on was when we sat down, the hostess noticed my wife was wearing a black skirt and asked if she preferred to use a black napkin verses the white that was already on the table. I do not think I have experienced that anywhere else.
The food is amazing, and I could go on and on about how great each course is, but as you can see by the other reviews that would just be redundant. I will however mention the dessert. We had a vanilla bean gelato drizzled with a 75 year old aged balsamic that to this day we still talk about. We've tried to recreate this dish at home, but nothing has come close.
Outside of Italy, this is my favorite Italian restaurant. No question.
