I believe in the States we would call a place like this a motel, rather than a hotel. It’s clean and basic, and its age shows in the slightly timeworn furnishings. The limited staff will get to you when they get to you, no fawning here. The location is right in the heart of Plaka, close to all the touristy shops and restaurants, with a view of the Acropolis overhead. The room was average size, the balcony gave a little extra breathing room. Don’t expect extra amenities or fancy furnishings here, just a daily breakfast, served on the rooftop with views of the Acropolis in summer or downstairs in winter. Actually, the best thing about this hotel is Doctor Fish across the street, where you can get your toes nibbled on.

Wow, if there ever was a hotel that was located the closest to Ancient ruins, this is the one. The only one set back is that the hotel is so average it makes me want to leave my bags, be out all day and all night, come back take a shower, sleep and do it all over again the next day! Roof restaurant is only for breakfast time, cool view of Acropolis but that’s it, no roof top fun at night. Wifi is everywhere and great for students just wanting a place to rest and leave there stuff. It’s clean and simple but it’s the neighborhood that makes this hotel one of the best located hotels in the city, right at the base of Adrianou st. in plaka. a minute from Monastiraki, Psiri and Thesio which is really why I’m here.

Th location of this small hotel is the best in Athens.
Right underneath the Acropolis Adrianou St is full of restauraunts and bars.
It is the heart of Athens where Greeks and tourists all mix and mingle.
When I am in town I make sure I get on this street at least once a day.
The hotel is basic but it is really clean and the staff will help you with any optional tours you might want.
The closest hotel to all of the ancient ruins.
