Naga House

Naga House is a rustic guesthouse located on the riverside and offers a variety of accommodation, from tree house bungalows to dorms. The bathrooms are communal. In addition, Naga has a bar and restaurant. The service is good and extensive. If you need a tuk tuk, rent a bike or motorbike, riverboat...

White Elephant Cave

A big cave located along the Cambodian countryside in Kampot, the White Elephant Cave contains a small religious temple constructed sometime in the 7th century AD. The real highlight though is to trek down the cave in the dark. No worries though. The tour guides will ensure you get down safely....

Ta Eou Restaurant

Ta Eou Restaurant serves Khmer food with inclusive distinction: the Kampot pepper. In their menu, dishes with poultry or seafood often features this specialty of Kampot. It looks like small green berries, but each green pepper gives the dishes a powerful kick. I highly recommend eating the fried...

Kampot

Kampot is a quiet river town and is several hours south of Phnom Penh. There's not much to do other than to sit, eat Kampot peppered meals, relax and soak up the view of the scenic countryside. It's great for a weekend getaway.

Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm is one of my favorite temples in Angkor Wat mainly because of the gigantic tree and its roots enveloping the ancient ruins. It's definitely a must-see in Angkor.

Angkor Thom

Angkor Thom is an awesome ruin and is a bus ride down from Angkor Wat. One of my favorite Wong Kar Wai films, "In the Mood for Love" was shot at Angkor Thom. The monument is huge and does not get as crowded compared to Angkor Wat. For these reasons, it's definitely worth a visit....

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is impressive and one of the major highlights in visiting Southeast Asia (it's definitely the biggest highlight in Cambodia). I would advise spending at least 2 full days here, and preferably, stay here for 3 days. I make the mistake of spending 1.5 days around the temples and towards the...

K'NYAY Khmer & Vegan Cuisine

K'nyay is not only one of the best vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Phnom Penh, but it's also one of my favorites for Khmer food in general. I had the banana curry, red curry, fish amok, sweet corn fritters, and taro and sweet potatoes fries. All of the dishes were excellent....

Choeung Ek - The Killing Fields

The Killing Fields is not an easy, leisurely site to visit. A glass tower filled with human skulls sits in the center of the field while paths are designated to indicate where and how people were killed. It's haunting, jarring, and unbelievably sad. However, to remotely understand Cambodia's...

Lake Tonlé Sap

Lake Tonle Sap is a fascinating area to go in Siem Reap, especially since there is large floating market and village made up of Vietnamese and Cambodian inhabitants. The size and length of some of the floating boats are impressive. You'll see floating classes, churches, and if you're lucky, you'll...
