    Cairo

    Egypt
    269 reviews

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the largest city in the Arab world and Africa. Its metropolitan area is the 16th largest in the world. Located near the Nile Delta,[1][2] it was founded in 969 AD. Nicknamed "the city of a thousand minarets" for its preponderance of Islamic architecture, Cairo has long been a centre of the region's political ...

    Cape Town

    South Africa
    194 reviews

Possibly (ok, PROBABLY) the world's most beautiful city, Cape Town is the cosmopolitan heart of southern Africa. Five-star dining, five-star shopping, five-star nightlife, and one of the most colorfully mixed cultures on Earth make it a stunning place to explore for a week or more. This, however, is just the beginning. With the 1000-meter colossus of Table Mountain looming above ...

    Marrakech

    Morocco
    182 reviews

The first time I came to Marrakech, I thought I'd arrived in Santa Fe--the adobe buildings, the mountains in the background, the artsy vibe, the rich tourists... Some of these things are a drawback (the crush of tourists is one), but the setting is splendid, and, on a practical note, there are some beautiful crafts to buy. For pure atmosphere, ...

    Sharm El Sheikh

    Egypt
    97 reviews

Sharm itself is a bit of a dump -- way overbuilt and filled with unattractive hotels that are way past their prime. That said, Sharm is a great base for excursions further into the Sinai (St. Catherine's Monastery, Mt. Sinai, Dahab) and for underwater exploration. The diving here is absolutely world class.

Not the best of Morroco but it`s worth to visit. Casablanca will be in few years a good spot for tourism as soon as they set their boardwalk and the beautiful projects by the beach.

    Victoria Falls

    Zimbabwe
    41 reviews

IF YOU THINK SOUTH AFRICA IS THE ONLY PLACE TO SEE REAL AFRICA, YOU NEED TO SEE ZIMBABWE. VICTORIA FALLS IS ON TOP OF THE GAME, AND YOUR CHOICE IN ACCOMODATIONS WON'T GO WRONG AS LONG AS YOU PICK LUXURY. THIS WAS THE REASON FOR MY $35,000 VACATION, AND I'M SURE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS THROUGH ZIMBABWE BROKERS. ASK ...

    Kruger National Park

    South Africa
    37 reviews

I'd been told for years that after experiencing so many other African parks Kruger would be a bit of a let-down. Not the case. While we didn't come across anything spectacular (except my first wild caracal - but I'm an animal nerd),we did see all of the Big 5. The best part about Kruger was the ability and ease to ...

    Stellenbosch

    South Africa
    20 reviews

I shouldn't be saying this as a native of Sonoma County, but the wines from Stellenbosch are the best - and excellent value. Just thinking about the Redhill Pinotage from Simonsig winery is making my mouth water. There are some fabulous wineries in the area plus spectacular scenery, awesome restaurants, and great shopping downtown.

Essaouira was a highlight of my trip to Morocco. It is a charming, walled town, with great views out to sea from the walls, amazing seafood (the fish market is not to be missed), and a beautiful beach great for hanging out, or taking kite surfing lessons.

With its fine beaches, great dining (yay bunny chow!), and colorful mixture of Zulu and Indian cultures, Durban is a place that too may people breeze past on their way up to Jo'burg.
