    Carnivore

Langata Road, Near Wilson Airport, PO Box 56685, City Square 00200, Nairobi, Kenyan Regions, Kenya
    4.5
    16 reviews

This place is not what it used to be. Don't go in expecting to dine on anything too exotic. Game meat can no longer be served legally in Kenya so the only meats you get here are farmed: beef, pork, chicken, camel, ostrich, and crocodile. For about $40 you get all-you-can eat meat, a salad, desert, and sides. Drinks are ...

Best restaurant in the cape... There is no menu, you walk up to the counter and chose what seafood you want, how much, and how you want it cooked.

    Abu el Sid

    157 26th Of July St.

Incredibly atmospheric bohemian Egyptian restaurant. Supposedly loved by Omar Sharif. Definitely upscale but drips with atmosphere. The food could be a little better but is still quite good. Reservations a must. Be sure to take a map. A little hard to find the door but once you see it, it is pretty obvious.

    Sevruga Restaurant

V & A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa
    4.5
    6 reviews

I was a little nervous entering Sevruga. The V&A Waterfront restaurant is huge, and the larges menu is all over the place--sushi, Asian tapas, classic seafood, etc. But the seafood is perfectly prepared and the service is phenomenal. A notch above many of the waterfront restaurants.

    Cafe Clock

The camel burger is a must-try--though alarming in texture if you're used to beef burgers. The best part of this experience is finding it down the teeny tiny alleyway and then sitting on the rooftop enjoying mint tea while you hear the call to prayer. Check it out.

    Koshary Abou Tarek

    16 maarouf st., DOWNTOWN, Egypt

Must visit and try that food. Hygiene and interior (as well as exterior) could be better, but koshary are very tasty and unusual for European traveler. The prices are very cheap and service is quick.

Excellent food in an intimate atmosphere. The wine was superb as well. After a weekend of wine tasting in Stellenbosch, this was the perfect restaurant to sit back and enjoy a last evening with good friends over a fine meal.

    Table Mountain Cafe

Decidedly overpriced for what's on offer. Agree with other reviewers. Take a bottle of water or snack and go somewhere else afterwards.

    Ali Barbours Cave Restaurant

    Ukunda, Kenya

This is my vote for the one thing you must do if you go to Diani, but make reservations at least the night before because the venue is small and the word is already out on this place. It is set underground in a cave made of limestone and petrified corals. It is illuminated with a candle lite glow, and ...

This is one of the coolest places to go in JNB for a meal. An old converted factory complex that now has some great restaurants. Go for jazz on a Sunday afternoon in the courtyard!

A true locals spot, there is not much decor to draw you in, but you can sit comfortably on the porch outside and take in a little people watching with your meal. The chicken biriyani comes with a thick delicious sauce and is worth trying if you are looking for a meal.

    Dar Hatim

This family restaurant is so, so sweet--it is literally in their living room, and the mom is upstairs in the kitchen. At first glance, it doesn't look promising--it's got that same overfurnished, too-big-room-and-too-short-a-menu kind of vibe that lots of bad Moroccan restaurants have. But the food is pure home-cooked goodness. We ordered bistilla (the flaky chicken pie) and couscous, and ...

Amazing freshly cooked pasta, on maybe the most extensive Italian menu in town. Conveniently located right in downtown Nairobi. They also serve seafood, and have a large wine list. Not cheap though. They take online reservations.

The food is delicious, the meat tender, the njera fresh, and the service friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are pretty standard, and we suggest you get one of the suggested platters, which cost around 850 KSh pp. The coffee was perfectly made and presented. The staff truly are delightful.
