    Abu el Sid

Incredibly atmospheric bohemian Egyptian restaurant. Supposedly loved by Omar Sharif. Definitely upscale but drips with atmosphere. The food could be a little better but is still quite good. Reservations a must. Be sure to take a map. A little hard to find the door but once you see it, it is pretty obvious.

Superb food, lovely atmosphere and impeccable service. The menu combines traditional Moroccan dishes with more European tastes. It was highly recommended to us by the owner of the Riad where we stayed.

All I can say is WOW! The food is great, the location is great, the price is great! We had a three course meal, a bottle of wine, a bottle of water, and cocktails for less than £60 for both of us! Wish I could go back every week!

    Le Comptoir Darna

Le Compotoir Darna is an absolute must when you are traveling to Marrakesh. It is located just outside main medina of Marrakesh. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and the food is delicious as well. Once you walk in you know you are in a special place. It's extraordinary how pretty it is decorated. At 10:30 every evening, they do ...

    Talisman

Often billed as the best restaurant in the area, eating here is just a great experience. The food is gourmet and innovative, the services is great, and the you can either sit inside with stained glass lighting, outside woven between the trees, or next to a open fire. If you can make it out to Karen, make sure you plan ...

    La Colombe

Its high ranking on the Restaurant Magazine's 50 best restaurants in the world is well deserved. I had a wonderful lunch here, with a wide selection of local ingredients and SA wine. The best part is, price is actually reasonable for a fine dining restaurant. It was $80-$90 per person with wine and dessert. I think a similar lunch at ...

    Haute Cabriere

This site offers not just the oldest underground cellar in the Western Cape, but also some of the area's best views of the Franschoek mountains. It also has a reputation for producing similarly spectacular food, and every beautiful & colorful dish comes with a recommended wine. My suggestion: check out my favorite white, the relatively rare Chardonnay Pinot Noir blend, ...

    Rick's Café Casablanca

    4
    2 reviews

If you go to Casablanca, you of course have to visit Rick's Cafe. The restaurant is modeled after "Ricks American Cafe" in the iconic movie Casablanca. The food at the restaurant is pretty good, but the main draw is the ambiance. The owners have taken a lot of consideration into modeling the restaurant exactly like it is seen in the ...

    Mugg & Bean

Sometimes when you're in an unfamiliar place you just need a little taste of home. Mugg & Bean always reminded me of my old stand by's and thus, not only fueled my energy but also provided a bit of comfort. Expensive....but a nice treat.

    Joe's Beer House

A not-so-subtle reminder of the Namibian people's heavily German/Dutch roots. If you're planning on staying in Namibia for an extended period of time, you'll definitely need to check this place out. Get the meat sampler platter (and see if you survive!). I never knew I liked to eat crocodile. :-) If you're just swinging through Windhoek, there are much more ...

Excellent food in an intimate atmosphere. The wine was superb as well. After a weekend of wine tasting in Stellenbosch, this was the perfect restaurant to sit back and enjoy a last evening with good friends over a fine meal.

    Sevruga Restaurant

I was a little nervous entering Sevruga. The V&A Waterfront restaurant is huge, and the larges menu is all over the place--sushi, Asian tapas, classic seafood, etc. But the seafood is perfectly prepared and the service is phenomenal. A notch above many of the waterfront restaurants.

    Dar Moha

    3.5
    3 reviews

After dinner the previous night at Dar Marjana, I'd thought that was going to be a tough act to follow. The jetset trash glamour of this place wouldn't make it look out of place as a location in a 1970s James Bond film and that's half its charm. The food is good too, though I suspect trading rather heavily on ...

    Carnivore

    4.5
    16 reviews

This place is not what it used to be. Don't go in expecting to dine on anything too exotic. Game meat can no longer be served legally in Kenya so the only meats you get here are farmed: beef, pork, chicken, camel, ostrich, and crocodile. For about $40 you get all-you-can eat meat, a salad, desert, and sides. Drinks are ...

    Koshary Abou Tarek

Must visit and try that food. Hygiene and interior (as well as exterior) could be better, but koshary are very tasty and unusual for European traveler. The prices are very cheap and service is quick.
