    Pyramids of Giza

    4.5
    142 reviews

On my first day in Egypt, an hour after I landed, my travel guide took me to the Giza Plateau. It was all worth it. Wow!! It was only a little over 3 hours flight from Rome, Italy, so no jet lag. I was traveling through Europe for three weeks, saw all the great sites there, but nothing compared to ...

    Table Mountain

    66 reviews

Table Mountain is a must-do if you're visiting Cape Town. The iconic rock is a lot of fun for both hikers and sightseers. If you're up for a challenge, you can take one of several trails up the mountain that range from moderate to more difficult ones that even include a bit of rock climbing. If you just want to ...

    The Sphinx

    4.5
    63 reviews

Usually a stop on the tour of the Cairo pyramids (as they are nearby), there is an opportunity to walk around the sphinx outside complex. Lots of rag-a-muffin kids running around looking for a handout: they are harmless. Ignore them and they will go away.

    Great Pyramid of Khufu

    4.5
    49 reviews

The largest of the pyramids in Giza. You may purchase a ticket and crawl your way inside into the King's Chamber. The experience is hot and it is pretty impossible not to have claustrophobia here. Very memorable but crawling inside requires some stamina. The highlight of the pyramid is the view you get of it from outside.

When it gets dark, the "big square" turns into a giant kitchen. Everywhere, food stalls are set up. Look for the most crowded place and try to find a spot. The food is super fresh and prepared right in front of you.

    Table Mountain Cableway

    4.5
    39 reviews

Surprisingly efficient and well run. Lines were fine in the off-season. Best to ask the hotel concierge to arrange taxis. Booking online doesn't buy that much time, but it might be different in summer.

    Cape Point

    34 reviews

Cape Point is located inside the Cape of Good Hope Reserve. The point itself includes loads of lookout points to view the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. There is a lighthouse which you can climb up to. You can also get the funicular railway to a point halfway up the hill. I have done this before, but never quite made it ...

    V&A Waterfront

    4
    40 reviews

In some ways it's just a glorified shopping center, but it is a darn fine glorified shopping center. There are some excellent retail shops in the mall, the aquarium is one of the best, there's awesome restaurants and cocktail lounges, and the place has a fun vibe with the various acrobats and Ladysmith Black Mambazo-like singers scattered throughout the area. ...

The Castle of Good Hope is an old Dutch East India fort in the middle of the city. It's built in the star design with a moat around it. It's something to see if you're a history buff or a fort geek.

    Toubkal Trekking

    22 reviews

We just returned from a brilliant trek from Marrakech to mount toubkal. Toubkal Trekking organized everything perfectly. I would strongly recommend to book with Mustapha, who runs things from Marrakech. For us there were many reasons (more flexible, cheaper, eco-friendly, more personal) to organize our trekking trip with a local company and not a big organized travel company from Europe. ...

    Medina of Marrakesh

    29 reviews

The Medina in Marrakesh is amazing. You may want to have a guide with you, as the Medina can feel a bit daunting and the frenetic environment is best navigated by a pro, who knows where and where not to go. One of the most amazing things in the Medina of Marrakesh is an ancient synagogue, which is exceptionally beautiful ...
