This bronze statute is absolutely amazing in it size. It is one of the must sees in any visit to Dakar.

Locals have a love-hate relationship with this grand statue commemorating Africans that's ironically displaying two Asians and designed by Koreans. Even if you don't like the statue, it's worth trekking to the top of the hill, which has a sweeping view of Dakar, and displays the city's fit mentality: many locals sprint up and down the hill.

I see this everyday at work as it stands out for miles as it overlooks the airport. What you do get to see from it is one of Dakar's slum areas from above, all this money spent on it when it should have been spent on the people of Senegal.
