Entering the large, open lobby, with crystal chandeliers hanging like a grande dame’s earrings, I had high expectations, but they were misguided. Maybe the lounge, centered around a TV like my grandma’s living room should have tipped me off. On the up-side, they serve a buffet breakfast included in the price, and offer free WiFi as well. I was underwhelmed by the room – basic but clean with a balcony, but the furnishings were outdated and the only view was of the trees across the way. I found out after the fact that if you want a room with a view here, you have to ask for the only one – number 601. It lacks extensive amenities, but there is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor next to the lobby. Nothing spectacular, but in a location that brings you close to most of the central attractions you could want.Recommended for:

This hotel is a throw-back to the 60’s in a kitchish style that isn’t deliberate by design, mixed in with some modern renovation that just doesn’t get my mojo rising. I’d probably love it if it was deliberate but the truth is that there’s isn’t a fantastic view from the rooms either, the view is of other buildings across the street. It’s definitely a quiet area which is a plus but the double bed wasn’t beckoning me to accompany it. Even though the hotel is clean and the restaurant under a skylight looks inviting for breakfast, it still wasn’t enough for me. But wait...there’s a surprise...room 601 is the only room in the hotel that has a view of the Acropolis! I guess there is a silver lining in every cloud after all!Recommended for:
