Akumal beach is know for swimming with giant sea turtles. You can spend a day visiting La Vida Bueno for lunch on the beach with breathtaking views and then take a short drive to the beach, put on your snorkel gear, swim past the boats and you will soon see many giant sea turtles and pass through beautiful reefs with a plentiful variety of tropical fish. Just watch out for barracudas and lion fish. Harmless unless you provoke or try to touch them.

A kumal Bay is about an hour south of Cancun and well worth the trip. The beach at Akumal Bay is absolutely beautiful. Here you can snorkel and swim with sea turtles that feed on sea grass growing fairly close to shore. There is good food to be had at Lol-ha restaurant. Close by is an inlet called Jal-ku where you feel like you are swimming in an aquarium and it is fairly inexpensive.
