This is a cheap, clean hotel. Barbur blvd is a busy place, and if it was my first time to portland, I'd rather not be located out here, but with a car, this is a good location. The Aladdin has discount rates for V.A. and O.H.S.U. patients along with a van that goes to those places at 8:30 am and 3:00. There's no gym or pool, but there is breakfast in the newly renovated lobby. This hotel is a really good deal especially for guests with a car because there's free parking. Barbur blvd is a busy road and not all that pedestrian friendly, but there are busses to downtown that run on it.Recommended for:

I was a little nervous standing in the small lobby of this inn/motel at night alongside a very large man with large forearm tattoos and a large scar across his face, but my feelings were proved invalid when he turned and smiled at me after receiving his room key and heading out. My judgements were stomped on a second time after being shown a room; this inn/motel is surprisingly very nice and...wait for it...quiet! A perfect place to stay after a long drive. The rooms are standard, but are clean and neat. The front desk is helpful and willing to try and accommodate preferences, as was the case for another man in front of me who preferred a ground-level room last minute. Also, it’s only a few blocks from the highly overlooked “Multnomah Village”, who’s quaint street of vintage shops and eateries, may be the best kept secret in Portland. If mainstream is what you’re looking for though, downtown Portland is only a fifteen minute drive.

Recently renovated, the Aladdin Inn & Suites is a modern basic motel located close to Barbur Blvd and the I-5 about four miles south of the downtown area of Portland.
Clean and nicely appointed the Aladdin does not have much character. Situated behind a Chevron station off a busy highway, this motel is appropriately priced for the less expensive end of the market. The rooms are very clean, modern, not luxurious but with good amenities including refrigerator, microwave, and wifi. The motel offers complimentary breakfast which is a nice touch!
I sensed a pride in the state of the motel by the friendly and welcoming staff. That it is one of the better motels of its type on the periphery of downtown Portland makes it a definite alternative to the downtown pricey establishments -- and the parking is free! If you are passing through Portland or you need some very decent, reasonably quiet, moderately cheap accomodation for a day or two, then this motel is ideal.

If you are looking for a budget motel in Portland, the Aladdin is one of your best bets. It’s located on the charmless Barbur Boulevard, about five miles from downtown Portland off Interstate-5 and has plenty of parking. The property underwent a major remodel in 2010, and the place looks a lot more modern (and a bit more chic) than your average Portland motel. There’s none of the frills here (such as a pool or a fitness center), but the prices here are excellent and the staff are relatively polite. All the rooms here have fridges, microwaves, and TVs and some are equipped with kitchenettes. Wi-Fi is included in the room rate, as is breakfast, and free coffee and tea are available in the lobby 24/7.
A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily. Aladdin Inn & Suites features laundry facilities, express check out, and self parking. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Additional property amenities include secure parking. Guest parking is complimentary. The front desk is open 24 hours a day. Extended parking privileges may be offered to guests after check out (surcharge). This is a smoke free property. A total renovation of this property was completed in July 2010.
There are 56 guestrooms at Aladdin Inn & Suites. Beds come with premium bedding. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. In addition to complimentary wireless Internet access, guestrooms offer direct dial phones and free local calls. 19 inch televisions have premium cable channels. Air conditioned rooms also include electronic/magnetic keys and clock radios. Guests may request microwaves, irons/ironing boards, and hair dryers. Housekeeping is available. Rollaway beds are available on request. Guestrooms are all non smoking.
