Finally! After years of anticipation made it over here. What a blast. I actually had more fun playing the vintage pinball games, although some of the newer ones were fun to watch and play for their clever trick ballfields. So good to see people of all ages enjoying the games. I will be back for sure!Popular withHistoryFamiliesLocal

This faire is known by locals as the "Alameda Flea" and is held on the first Sunday of each month. Admission is more expensive the earlier you show up, so if you want the cheapest ticket, come at 9 a.m. or later for a $5 entry fee. You'll find all kinds of things here. No, really. I've seen piles and ...Popular withLocalDesignHistory

Pretty nice beach & park area. I've been twice so far to do sessions. My most recent on was this afternoon of an older couple which was really sweet. There's picnic tables & I think bbq pits/grills where you can have a bbq. Then lots of nice green grass areas to play ball or whatever you're up for. Sometimes, they ...Popular withFamiliesOutdoorBudget

Why taking the Alameda- Oakland Ferry is awesome: 1) It takes you straight to the Ferry Building in SF. 2) Great way to get to the Giants games with out the hustle and bustle. 3) Snacks and boozes on the Ferry for purchase. 4) Take the Ferry back to Jack London Square for some good eats. 5) Reasonable fare rates ...Popular withFamiliesLocalOutdoor

Gayle and I took my son and one of his friends to see a movie. I suggested that we see it at the Alameda Theatre as this recently restored Art Deco show place was bookmarked, and I knew that my son would appreciate a trip back to his old school neighbourhood. In fact, he was so happy to be back ...Popular withFamiliesLocal

Located right next to St. George Spirits, Faction Brewing is the perfect stop for a flight of beers on a weekend afternoon. Sunday there is a food stand that serves corn dogs for a reasonable price. This could be my new frequent hang out!Popular withTrendstersFoodies

If etsy had a physical store, this would be it. Featured here are local craftspeople making lots of cool knickknacks like jewelry, clothing, bags, books and all sorts of other items. Most of the artists here actually do sell their goods on Etsy as well, but this is one place where you can physically touch a crafted item you see ...Popular withTrendsters

I really like Alameda, so I am predisposed to liking the ASSA. Parking is free and plentiful, and it is located right next to Alameda college, essentially the very first exit after you pass through the Webster tunnel. My kid has only been attending there for a couple of weeks, but he seems to be learning how to swim, which ...Popular withFamilies

I honestly can't remember much about this station other than it's business. It was my first time going through Oakland and yes, there was a little culture shock but I never felt worried. If you haven't seen the movie Fruitvale Station, you MUST! The movie follows the true story of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who sadly had ...Popular withTrendstersLocal

I happened to be in Alameda, as my son needed to be picked up from school. We had a little time to kill, so we decided to stop into the Alameda Marketplace on Park Street. He was interested in malted milk balls and I figured on a scone for my next breakfast. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, ...

I went to Mills for four years and it was my home away from home. I really loved everything about this school from the community to the atmosphere and even the horrible hill I had to walk up to to get to my apartments. It's beautiful and has a great history that really made me feel a part of a ...

Pick up a ferry to Jack London Square in Oakland or to San Francisco's Ferry Building and downtown. Just a short 8-mile ride takes you to the city by the bay. The Ferry Building is a destination in and of itself with Farmer's Markets, boutiques, wine bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Catch ferries to take you to other destinations including ...
