Right next to the world's busiest floatplane lake, where you can watch actual bush pilots taking off and landing, this little ol' museum caught my interest even though I'm not a huge fan of aviation history (but if you are, it'll keep you engaged for hours). Great historical photos of the early days of Alaskan aviation, both civilian and military, plus a hangar where you can look at rare aircraft being restored. Watch for plane traffic on the taxi-way that you have to drive across to get to the museum parking lot! The friendly lady in the little food shack outside (usually open in summer) sells tasty reindeer hot dogs that you can chow down on while watching the planes by the lakefront.Recommended for:
