Madonna Inn is a place difficult to describe in words. The dining room is like Valentine's day on steroid when someone accidentally dumped a truck load of old Christmas decorations into it. This little abomination is surprisingly amusing. Just like my favorite ugly Christmas sweater. It is a one of a kind novelty.
The reason for the 2 stars review has nothing to do with their decor. It was just the food really. Granted it was a Thanksgiving dinner and I am usually pretty generous to people who willing to feed me on this very occasion, the quality of food was just excusable. Here's the run down.
Special Holiday Dinner Menu
Antipasto Sampler Appetizer - a tray of cheap grocery brought items including raw green onions, jalapeno and tasteless cheese.
Pumpkin Spice Soup - So bland I had to load it up with a bunch of salt and pepper. If you chop up some pumpkin and run it though a food processor this is what you will end up with.
Roast Tom Turkey - Dry turkey meat with canned cranberry sauce and frozen peas. Served with ready made stuffing and instant mashed potatoes on the side.
Baked Honey Cured Ham - How can you mess up a piece of ham? By overcooking it and making it dry.
I was tempted to try that crazy looking pink champagne cake but I really chickened out after the entree. If you want cheap highway diner quality food at fancy steakhouse price, this is the place for you.
Mr Q couldn't have said it better - "This place really make me thankful for all the good food we had other time of the year."Recommended for:
