If you love Fado music (a mournful, and soulful kind of traditional Portuguese music) then you’ll want to stay in this cool hostel. The Alfama Hostel is located smack dab in the middle of Lisbon’s historic Alfama district. With 55 beds, a cocktail bar that opens up at night, weekend barbeques, walking tours of the city, free pancakes breakfasts and wonderful views of the Tejo River, you really can’t go wrong here. There’s also free coffee and tea available throughout the day, as well as Internet access. In general, this hostel is just a really fun place to hang out. The garden and patio both give off an extremely relaxed vibe. The staff is young, educated, and tuned into what hot and what’s not in Lisbon. If you decided to stay here, you’ll meet people from all over the world. I can’t think of a better place to start off your Lisbon experience.

It's a cosy, peacefull and social little hostel in the oldest part of Lisbon. You have a nice bed and friendly hosts. The breakfast isn't a breakfast buffet but it's acceptable. You have toast, tea or coffee. There are also 2 computers with free internet! And a nice bathroom to share.
