I loved this place!! This former jail is one of the coolest bars I have ever been too. The drinks are a bit expensive but the crowd is lively and the atmosphere great!

Alibi lounge is a great place to go to hang out with friends or mingle outside your crowd. The lounge is located on the first floor of Liberty Hotel. The hotel used to be a prison in the early 1900s and now it's a trendy hotel that inherited some historic decor: catwalks, prison bars, and brick foundation. Fun fact: Malcolm X was an inmate at the prison before it became one of the hottest "non chain" hotels in Boston.

Always wondered what it would be like to get drunk in jail? Visit Alibi then ;-) It's a bar in converted jail cells in the Libery hotel. The cocktails are amazing and the walls are adorned with hilarious celebrity mugshots (Charlie Sheen, Lohan, etc).

I would give this place a 5-star for their decor, but not so much for their service. Alibi Bar is located on the ground floor of the Liberty Hotel, which is historic and well known for being a prison once upon the time. We were greeted by a jaded, grumpy manager when us girls came into the bar. You would think he would be a little nicer to us cute girls, umm no!
It's interesting when a waitress doesn't know the menu very well. When I asked for her recommendations, she gave me the generic answer of "All of em' are pretty good", which is not helpful at all. If the staff isn't excited over their own restaurant and menu, how can they expect me to be?!
In the end, I ordered their 'Cold Hand Cuke'-vodka, muddled cucumber & mint, and pineapple. Their drinks were strong ($13 on average) and standard. It wasn't too sweet, which I liked...like I wrote earlier, the drink is standard, but nothing out of the ordinary. We also ordered a magherita pizza, which was also just A-OK since the crust overwhelmed half the pizza...it reminded me of a frozen pizza at home, but not as bad. It is one par above, sad huh? PS, our pizza came out 10x faster than our drinks.
Alibi has a nice outdoor patio area for drinks, but the inside seating is where you get the feel for what you really came here for...brown stones and bars!
Overall, the service was horrible, the drinks were okay, and the decor was fantastic! Can anyone say new management please?
