The Amalfi Coast is a gorgeous stretch of coastline in southern Italy between Sorrento and Salerno. It is known for its small towns built (almost vertically) into the side of steep hillsides, its teal waters, tiny sand beaches, and one long curving road. It's gotten somewhat pricey over the years, but it's still a beautiful part of the world.

One of the most famous coasts on earth! Beautiful stretch of coast with many towns along the way. If you are a good driver the best way to go is to rent a car and drive from one side to the other. The twists and turns just keep coming and around every bend the views are spectacular. I will never forget the day I drove along this epic coast!

We drove down the Amalfi Coast from Salerno to Sorrento, about twenty miles of narrow, winding roads following an enchanting rocky coastline. I have never driven or seen such natural beauty as I did that week driving up and down the coastline.

This is such a stunning drive, but not for the faint hearted. Hope you don't get carsick! While in the actual city of Amalfi, be sure to try one of the lemon ices that are sold at many little stands. So refreshing, and delicious!

Take a drive along the Amalfi coast for some amazing views and heart attack inducing driving. Make sure your car has good breaks and turns on a dime. Hire a driver for better viewing or take the bus (make sure to grab a seat on the water side depending on if you're going north or south). A must experience for vacationing in southern Italy!
