Fun modern atmosphere, we had the lunch buffet which had a huge selection! What they had that day was Northern Indian themed but with some creative american fusion options. American curried corn in a shell, goat curry ?! Very close to Union square-- 20 minute line for the buffet the day we were there but worth the wait.

i believe it's same owners as the branch in Mountain View. the decor is upscale. the service is spotty, as a few waiters i've had have not been very attentive. the staff generally is friendly however. the samosas and chicken tikki are good as well as naan. the lunch buffet was ok, though some of the food was kind of cold. i generally like the mountain view branch more. the place is fairly pricey for indian food, but a nice place for our of town guests. nothing spectacular though.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

This place is solid. Their signature butter chicken (great marketing. you can't go wrong with this name but if you mess it up...) was tasty. I mean TASTY.
For appetizers, try their duck tinka kebab. It's tender and full of flavor. Chicken tikka and most of their lamb dishes are great. Only dish I tried that was mediocre was their sea bass moilee. Definitely recommend trying Amber India at least once.
