Simple and comfortable, this Best Value Inn exudes a country-style charm. The windows in the room were high, but that added to the coziness of the enclosure, while the armoire around the somewhat old-fashioned TV made me feel like I was at Grandma's house. The elderly manager is sweet and kind, and though the lobby is small, there is a free computer - and they serve breakfast on the little shelves, complete with bagels, fruit, hot cocoa, and tea! Just enough to start you off on your day in San Diego.

While this hotel does have a cute adobe look to it, it falls just short of being on my list of places I would recommend. I think my room may have been situated a little worse than most other rooms, because it was tucked under a staircase on the first floor. There was no front window, and the giant green curtains over the sliding glass door at the back stifled any light that may have come in. It was kind of a neat feature that the door opened directly to the pool, but I’m not too excited about a big glass door to my ground floor hotel room in a slightly sketchy neighborhood. There is a computer in the lobby, where guests are allowed to print boarding passes and directions (only). This place does have its charms and the woman at the front desk was very helpful, but it needs a little interior renovating to become a real winner.

This little Best Value Inn was comfortable and actually kind of charming. The Mexican style building included beautiful tiles, which gave off a personalized feel to this brand name hotel. The room was less attractive than the outer areas, and I felt that the smell was overwhelmingly clean. You know when you accidentally spill windex all over the floor? Like that. The windows in the room where high off the ground, and in order to see outside you would probably have to jump on the bed (though that is something I am never opposed to). One thing that really bothers me is when hotels, and even motels, don't have shampoo or conditioner available in the rooms. I hate bringing my own toiletries when I know I will be staying in a hotel! Anyways, this hotel is comfortable and a gem if you don't stay in the room for extended periods of time.
