    Amsterdam Canals

    4.5
    146 reviews

This place has the strange that we all need. Aside from biking being the main transportation, and a must to do, the city offers a charming collection of locals and tourists. It all started with a bus ride from Paris to Amsterdam. Passengers had their bottles, and by 10am they were climbing all over their seats through songs and conversation ...

    Red Light District

    158 reviews

The Red Light District is perfect for having a quiet drink in one of the bars or relaxing in one of the cafes/coffeeshops, whatever floats your boat. Walking through the windows is pretty surreal and not like anything you will see anywhere else in Europe (to my knowledge), so it is definitely worth a wander at night for the intrigue.

    I Amsterdam Sign

Classic and a must see in the city. You'll find this spot on museumplein, rear the Rijksmuseum. The hardest part is to get a photo with your mates without anybody else hanging on the letters. On Queens day it shows a different aspect and can be found ussually on Dam Square.

Cycling south along the river is nice. I saw several crew teams practicing which was fun. There are generally good bike lanes marked so you shouldn't have a problem.

    De Wallen

    4.5
    3 reviews

The infamous district of Amsterdam is actually paradoxically "very" safe. It looks more like a museum than what it is. Needless to say, it is the most crowded place in Amsterdam, with all the bars next to a very picturesque canal. Dont worry, everything is legal.

    Prinsengracht

    2 reviews

The most beautiful canal in Amsterdam, and definitely worth a boat tour on it. You'll pass some of the city's most important landmarks and prestigious hotels, residences, and restaurants. It's virtually the canal spine of the city, offering a perfect self-tour through the heart of the city centre.

    Overtoom 301

    2 reviews

The Overtoom 301, located on Amsterdam’s Overtoom Street, is a former squat turned creative-space, and a hotspot for the city’s alternative subculture. Spread over 4 floors, with three bar areas, an in-house cinema, ping-pong nights, yoga and self-defense classes, art shows and exhibitions, live music and dance performances, a vegan restaurant and much more, the monthly agenda of this place ...

    Poezenboot

    1 review

The Poezenboot is a great place for animal lovers to stop by! Basically it's a cat sanctuary on a house boat, the cats have free roam of the boat. There's a porch for them and tons of toys and climbing structures inside. When you go in you can play with all the cats and stay as long as you like. ...

    Prostitution Information Centre

    4
    1 review

It would be a shame to tour the Red Light District without stopping by the Prostitute Information Centre. To learn more about the history of the area, and the conditions under which the girls at the windows operate - there is no better source for this information than the experts themselves. It is run by Mariska Majoor, a Dutch native ...
