The executive lounge at this hotel--with an unbelievable and relatively private view of the Sathorn skyline--almost makes me want to be an executive. This is one of the best business hotels we saw in the city, and if a company were going to put me up for a while, I’d look into the longer-term residences here that share the facilities with the hotel. It was one of the nicest pools we saw in the city with a pool edge made of black stone, and the spa competes—if a spa is capable of competing--with all the luxury spas in town. It has rooms not just for couples’ simultaneous Swedish massage, but also space for couples’ simultaneous Thai massage. Anantara also have their own brand of lotions and products that are bound to remind you of your time in Thailand. There is also some of the best medium sized meeting space we saw in the city on the 25th floor. In one of the meeting rooms there is a table made of a piece of tropical wood, that is so large and impressive, if you sat at the head of it, I’m sure no one would dare to question your authority (or your morals about having had that tree cut down in order to make you an authority commanding table). Some might be put off by the walk down the lane to get to the entrance, it is really only a ten minute walk to the sky train, though, and remember most hotels that open right onto busy streets also open onto tuk tuk hassle (a relatively gentle Thai hassle, but still...), so here the doorman will call a cab for you which ensures the taxis use the meter. This place is chic.

Sitting in the restaurant of Anantara, overlooking the gorgeous pool, you just feel an elegance about the place. It’s a pretty smooth operation here and it has very tasteful design and décor. I also noticed and appreciated the little touches to design that were in and about the hotel. Usually I am noticing negative defects in places but this was the total opposite. There are beautiful organic and abstract sculptures and an interesting and balanced use of steel, glass, wood and water. When I visited the massage spa I was surprised at how instantly relaxed I was from the ambiance of the place alone. It’s rare that I can feel that I am transported into a different space that places like this often try to create to make you feel relaxed. They have succeeded gracefully. The gym is well equipped with a view overlooking the pool, is accessible 24 hours and there is a kids room which I think is a great idea.Recommended for:Family Travelers

This was an amazing hotel I stayed at with a few friends in Bangkok. The service was amazing. I had stupidly left my passport in the airport and the people working behind the desk handled it all quickly and checked me in without needing my passport. They eventually found it by talking to the people at the airport and informed me how to get it very specifically.
In terms of the rooms, the stay here was very comfortable. The room we were in was awesome. The hotel also has a fully equipped gym and a pool. Free buffet breakfast that was delicious!
