- Anchorage Museum of History & ArtFirst to ReviewOct 18, 2013
If you're ever walked around downtown Anchorage, you know there's not a whole lot to do once you're eaten a reindeer hot dog and paid your disrespects to the Captain Cook Monument. This museum is one of my top two don't-miss sights in town (the other is the floatplane lake & bush pilots' museum), especially now that the Smithsonian has sponsored a new tribal history, arts and culture gallery with interactive multimedia exhibits. It's just too bad that the Alaska territory/state history galleries are less well-funded, as some of those displays look haphazard in comparison.
