If I were to dream up the ideal South Beach getaway, it would probably look something like this. The Anglers is damn near perfect. A secluded garden-like retreat that's nonetheless a short walk from everything hip and happening in town. Big rooms, centralized location, very atmospheric and fine dining right on site. The cozy little bar at 660 is refined and elegant, just to my liking. And while the pool area is not huge, it gets the job done. This hotel is all about comfort and tranquility, a hidden Eden to relax your senses between forays out into the wilds of the Art Deco District!Recommended for:

I loved the intimacy of being in a small, boutique hotel yet just a block from bustling Collins Avenue. What also appealed to me, aesthetically, was the beach-chic interior decor in the rooms, plus the fact that the lobby restaurant was designed by the same designer who worked on Versace's mansion. You also don't need to leave the hotel to get a glass of wine, cocktail, coffee or a meal: it's all at 660 (the lobby restaurant).

Busy, bustling, sometimes seedy Washington Avenue doesn’t seem like the ideal location for a hotel but Angler’s is on the southern end, and is set back from the street and surrounded by lots of lush shrubs. It’s kind of amazing how secluded it feels once you’re inside one of its rooms, or tucked in at the cute little bar inside the 660 at The Angler’s restaurant. The pool is small but many of the rooms here have private Jacuzzis—the pool house villa and tower suites also have their own terraces. The low-rise, apartment-style layout of the hotel adds to the feeling that you’re staying in a good friend’s plush condo, although you get the bonus of housekeeping and room service.

Anglers is really nice if you're looking for something a little quieter or bigger rooms. Simply put, the hotel experience here is great with excellent service. The pool bar is fun and although its off the beach, its still just a couple blocks and we made friends with some of the other guests! Super fun times at the clubs at night, and the hotel staff was always friendly no matter the hour.

In my opinion, the Anglers sets the standard in SoBe resort accomodations. With the amazing staff and outstanding central location, this is my go-to in Miami. Although it's not right on the beach, the hotel is just two blocks from the main drag and offer larger rooms than the hotels on the beach, which was nice because we could get away from all the hubbub. The rooms come with all the amenities plus really comfortable beds.
