- Aparthotel Torres de AlbaOct 25, 2013
Maybe I'm a dork, but the thrill of living in the Jetson's age went through me when, at a touch of a button by the bed, the window shades slid silently into the ceiling. The Torres de Alba has an old tower and a new tower – the new tower is brand new, and impecably modern (hence the automatic drapes.) Considering this is an entire apartment, with a large kitchen, it's a pretty good deal at the rack rate of $190, but it gets to be even better deal if you stay longer – if you stay for two weeks it drops to $120 a night. The staff was all really nice and the lobby was one of those you don't mind hanging out in for a while. The gym is very large and the pool area simple but relaxing.

Like the name suggests, the Torres de Alba combine a hotel with an apartment to get a large and comfortable suite, for the price of a mid-range hotel. These places really are like mini apartments with marble tiles and full kitchens. But the absolutely coolest amenity are the futuristic, mechanized window shades. Totally like something from Bladerunner. The luxurious and cavernous suites run between $149 - $189 depending on length of stay at rate five stars because of the tremendous value. On site restaurant, pool, gym and bar. Wifi included.
