Conveniently located at the East end of Princes Street, the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel is one of the few luxury Spa Hotels in Edinburgh.

If your ideal day consists of a spot of shopping, followed by a relaxing swim before you get ready for your big night out, then you should seriously consider checking into this hotel.

The Yu Spa offers a range of massages and treatments that will invigorate or relax, depending on your requirements. There's also a room with two beds, where couples or mothers and daughters can enjoy treatments together.

The rooms are a mix of Georgian and contemporary. This unique twist comes about through the extension which was seamlessly added to the back of the Georgian exterior, so the rooms at the front of the building have typical high ceilings and interior detailing from that era.

All of the 187 rooms have free Wi-Fi internet access and you can choose from a range of City, Superior, Deluxe and Master Suites. Some have mezzanine floors and most have the kind of bathrooms you would expect to see in a five star establishment.

There's five private dining rooms and the luxuriously-appointed Elliot's bar and Restaurant, where you can kick back and enjoy a cocktail or two before dinner.

Overall, a stylishly comfortable place to hang out during your stay in Edinburgh.

The location is great within Edinburgh , as you can walk to either Princess street or the Castle easily. Although I didn't try the gym or pool , it seems to be okay as the Scottish Rugby team were using it during the 6 nations when they played England..
