This resort is lovely. It isn't full-service -- i.e., no room service but the views are stunning, the rooms are spacious and the location is wonderfully secluded. Built on a hillside, this would be a tough spot for anyone with mobility issues. Dining options are limited. If with friends, consider booking a Penthouse unit (PH) and a Treehouse (TH) unit in the same unit. The Penthouse units are large two-story one bedrooms. The treehouses are small but many come with plunge pools and hammocks. The only real negative here is limited food and beverage options and, unfortunately, the food at the in-house restaurant is hit or miss -- but local options and seafood are good.
We also had some trouble with the in-house car service. If you hire a car, be sure to confirm and reconfirm in advance. Also, take the mobile phone provided by the hotel and use it to reconfirm return bookings in advance. We were unhappily stranded in San Juan del Sur for a bit though the property refunded our fee and offered spa treatments as an apology. Our excursion to Granada was flawless and the hotel-sponsored guide was very good.
Wi-fi exists but is intermittent and shouldn't be relied on.
