Wonderful! You can see Paris from a 360° perspective. Inside the building, the top floor, you find the unknown soldier monument.

One of the icons of Paris, this is an absolute must see. Its also worth paying to climb to the top for a great view of the city and especially the avenues meeting in a star around you.

Even if you are not a first time visitor, you will definitely keep seeing this because the main avenues of Paris all sort of emanate from this rotund. The Arc has been the scene many movies shot in Paris. Besides the Eiffel Tower, I would think it symbolizes Paris.

Also much bigger than I had imagined! It was great to see the arch all dressed up with a massive French flag for the Tour de France!

Take a look at the tomb of the unknown soldier at the base of the Arc before climbing to the top to get a nice view of Paris.

This somehow, isn't what I expected, despite seeing photos of l'Arc with the traffic flying around it. The architectural design is quite something, the sculpture and designs are beautiful. It would be on my list of things to see in Paris but it wouldn't be a site I'd visit on a return trip.

I'm a student of History...so absolutely love how the French have not one, but two of these Arc's celebrating their great victories over the Hun. However, the triumphs were those of Americans saving their derrière's in not one...but two world wars. And yes...I know my French brothers and Sisters aided us during the Revolution against their good friends the Brits...But hey...we're all buds, mates, and all now...right?:)

Yes, it's in the middle of the biggest retail/commercial district in Paris, but I can still feel the history pounding in my ears and heart of what this Arc has meant to so many throughout its life. Two of history's most notorious characters, Napoleon and Hitler, were certainly impressed by it.

Some of the best views of Paris can be seen from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. You can see straight down the Champs Elysees, you can see the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre! Its located right at the end of the Champs Elysees, so you can do a little sight seeing then do a bit of shopping!

Not only a great view and historical landmark but a nice place to start your day as you walk down the Champs Élysées making your way to the Louvre or Notre Dame

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Paris, Arc de Triomphe is a an integral part of the history of France. This forms the center of the largest trafiic roundabout in the world. The entrance is accessible by a tunnel from across the streets or from the metro station. If you have the stamina, do climb to the top for the maginificient views.

A monument created by napoleon to celebrate it's victories like the ancient Romain did. You can hike up there , with only stairs. You'll get a good view on la défeense and le louvre, as well as the champ elysée.

Another interesting way to see Paris from above in to go up the Arc de Triomphe and view the panorama of one of the most romantic cities in Europe. From the top of the Arc you’ll be located at the best spot to view the wonderful Avenue of the Champs-Élysées and the star shaped streets starting from the Arc's intersection. The inside the Arc, you’ll be able to learn a little bit of history from their small but interesting permanent museum.

Description

At what may feel like the center of Paris (directly between the Louvre and the Arche de la Defense) lies the giant, magnificent Arc de Triophe. As you approach, you'll notice that it's seemingly life-threatening to get to-- the hectic traffic circle that surrounds the monument poses a fatal danger to pedestrian tourists. Never fear, the underground passage will take you below the madness and into ... read more
the center of swirling automobiles. Be sure to get a photo from across the street-- the Arc is far too large to fit into a frame from inside the circle and backing up into traffic would be hazardous to even the most intrepid traveler's health. Open daily at 10 am.
