A well known geographical feature of Banderas Bay. Great for passing by on a water taxi while headed up the coast for an afternoon at Yalapa Beach. If you should decide to go out on a snorkeling adventure to Los Arcos, be careful of the ocean currents. They can be treacherous.Recommended for:

Marine National Area - Snorkeling Ground - The area has been a National Marine Park since 1984. It is protected as a breeding ground for pelicans, boobies and other sea birds. The park is a popular snorkeling destination both for the rocks themselves and for the dead coral fossilized coral beds that surround them.

Los Archos is a nice place to do some snorkeling or scuba diving. There are plenty of excursions that will take you out and supply the gear. Vallarta Adventures is the most famous and reliable.

I came here for a night dive with Vallarta Adventures. They offer this on Wednesday evenings if at least 3 people sign up. This speed boating adventure was one of the most stunning views of the city! The stars filled the clear sky, the skyline twinkled with lights, and our driver had a great sense of humor. During our dive here we ran into many balloonfish, a shy damselfish, and a triggerfish. Los Arcos itself kept the waters calm for us by breaking the current.
