Paris has nothing on Bucharest's very own Arc de Triomphe :) No wonder Bucharest went by the acronym "Little Paris" back in the day! Built in 1922 to honor the bravery of Romanian soldiers who fought in World War I, the initial wooden arc was rebuilt out of stone in 1935 by architect Petre Antonescu. An interior staircase allows visitors to climb to the top for a panoramic view of the city, onto a terrace overlooking Herastrau Park.

Built in 1922 to commemorate Romania’s World War I dead, the Arch was originally made of wood. It has a staircase that allows visitors to climb to the terrace on the top of the monument, 25 meters high. Located quite a way north of the Old Quarter, near Herastrau Park.
