In my experience, this is the "wild card" of the Arizmendi/Cheese Board family. Service and availability/quality of items can vary widely. The Arizmendi Bakery on Lakeshore is a better option if you have a choice. However, I still go to the Emeryville location often and go with the flow....And they take credit/debit cards.

The Arizmendi on Lakeshore is bigger, but this location generally has less of a line. The make one kind of pizza per day, and it is always delicious. They use fresh, innovative ingredients that always compliment each other.
Pizza crust is maybe the best part. Thin and crunchy. This is not your Chicago Deep Dish, and that's O.K.
Pastries are also great - I love the cheesy roll.

I love Arizmendi! I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance of this place and it's a great place to grab pizza or baked goods in the morning. I love the cherry corn scones in particular, but I don't think I've disliked anything they sell. I'll note that I think Cheeseboard makes a better pizza, but the pizza here is still excellent and I don't have to drive, fight for parking, and wait in line. It's conveniently located in a shopping center with ample parking and close to the 580 freeway.

Oh man, if you've ever had a slice of Arizmendi pizza, you know how special it is. If any pizza could be defined as a "California slice," it would be Arizmendi. A freshly baked crust topped with rotating toppings of crazy variations? That sounds pretty progressive to me.
And their cherry cornmeal scone can't be beat. It simply crumbles and melts in your mouth all at the same time!
