It's impossible to think about Miami Beach and avoid the Art Deco coming to your mind. Take a wak trough the area is a trip back to the 1920's/30's. Buildings still charming today, especially when the light come up. Is a must see area in MB, and there's a lot o entertainment going on all day and night.

Driving through this area of Miami is like being transported back in time. The old hotels and motels, the kitsch style of the Art Deco era - it's like a mini-southern Vegas-esque place. I don't know how to properly describe it, it just looks and feels like being in a movie.

South Beach, Florida has been called the American Riviera and an Art Deco Playground. Yet there's more than fine white sand to South Beach's fantasyland of exuberant Deco architecture. South Beach offers an eclectic mix of world-class boutiques, galleries and stores. It's also a culinary hot spot for gourmet to casual cuisine. At night, South Beach comes alive with crowds dressed in party-casual chic.

The visit of Art Deco District could be a really nice couple of hours experience. art-deco buildings cover about thirty blocks of hotels and apartment houses dating from the 1920s to the 1940s. During 1979, the Miami Beach Architectural District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Nearly all the buildings have been restored and painted in their original pastel colors

If you can get past the traffic, this district is what South Beach is all about! It's what you expect South Beach to be visually and it doesn't disappoint. Be sure to view this area in both daylight and nighttime hours.
Avoid driving during predictable heavy traffic hours.
