    Buttermilk Mountain

I don't know if they still have the Powder Pandas, but I was one at 2 years old. Only good memories on this mountain while I was taught how to ski.

Great place to find a pair of jeans or cute top...not cheap of course but not super expensive like the other stores in town (Prada, Chanel, Burberry etc.).

    Maroon Bells

    29 reviews

Maroon Bells is absolutely stunning. It is impossible to take a bad photo here. No matter which direction you turn, you are surrounded by beauty. And, for better or worse, Maroon Bells is easily accessible to almost everyone. Park at Aspen Highlands Village, and board a bus that climbs up the mountain and drops you off near Maroon Lake (and ...

    Aspen/Snowmass Ski Resort

    4.5
    16 reviews

This is my favorite place to ski. We've gone to Snowmass for years, and love it. It's been a little sparse the past few years, probably because people have been worried about the snow quality (it was perfect this past December), and it is definitely very pricey.

    Independence Pass

    8 reviews

If you have extra time driving to or from Aspen during the summer, Independence Pass is a stunning mountain road along Route 82 between Aspen and Twin Lakes. Climbing above 12,000 feet, the road is slow, narrow, and curvy due to glaciers. There are plenty of scenic overlooks for breaks and pictures. Just make sure it's open before planning to ...

    Aspen Pitkin County AIRPORT-ASE

    4.5
    4 reviews

A small, local airport servicing the Aspen area. It's located just 10 minutes from Aspen Snowmass mountain resort. No food options here so be prepared to bring your own snacks and meals. It appears mainly United flies in and out of this airport.

    Wheeler Opera House

Great live entertainment and where films are shown and renowned artists come to entertain. Also go there where staff helps you look at entertainment and restaurant guides for cultural and fun activities around town.

    J-Bar at Hotel Jerome

    4.5
    3 reviews

Built by Jerome B. Wheeler during the heyday of Aspen's silver mining history, the Jerome bar is famous for it's grand architecture, decore, and it's denizen. Sidle up to the bar polished by the elbows of Gary Cooper, John Wayne, and the authentically wild Hunter S. Thompson. When I visited long ago, my friend and I made the acquaintance of ...

    Smuggler Mountain Rd

    4.5
    3 reviews

This is one the local's favorites for getting a great cardio hike and then getting a reward at the top with the views of Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. If you have Fido with you, keep him on a leash - otherwise test your endurance at 9,000+ and see how you hold up. If you are on a mountain ...

    Ajax Trail

I come here to do a trail run. Getting up to the trail nearly killed me due to the altitude. But once I got up the mountain, the trail was very nice - wanders along the side of Aspen mountain through wildflowers and forest, with nice views of the town from above.

    ESPN Winter X-Games

    2 reviews

If you're fortunate enough to be in town for the X-games, head on over! Sometimes can be cold and a pretty big crowd, but TV can't quite communicate how high these guys actually go! A really easy trip from town to Buttermilk - and plenty of public transport. Great experience everyone should see once. Be sure and bring your Red ...
