    Maroon Bells

    29 reviews

Maroon Bells is a breathtakingly beautiful part of the United States--a glacial valley with a view of purple mountian peaks and the shimmering Maroon Lake below. The only problem is that, especially in the summer, the trails surrounding the lake can get overrun with people--arrive early to beat the crowds!

    Aspen Mountain

    12 reviews

Thanks to government shut downs, we couldn't get to maroon bells. Plan b turned out to a fun free ride to the top of Ajax mountain. Vast blue skies, a preview of snowy winter fun, and access to mountain beauty saved the day.

    Aspen Highlands

    9 reviews

This is the best mountain for serious big mountain skiers...but also a place to get away from the big crowds at Ajax and Snowmass. The highlight is the Highland's Bowl - a hike from the top of the highest lift for the strong of wind and heart, and some of the steepest skiing in North America. But also a place ...

    Belly Up

    5 reviews

The place to hear live music and frankly one of the best little live music venues in the country! You'll be amazed at the name acts they draw in this small venue - I guess every artist needs to ski now and then. But expect to see people who fill stadiums playing in what is essentially a basement bar! The ...

    Ajax Trail

    2 reviews

I come here to do a trail run. Getting up to the trail nearly killed me due to the altitude. But once I got up the mountain, the trail was very nice - wanders along the side of Aspen mountain through wildflowers and forest, with nice views of the town from above.

If you're fortunate enough to be in town for the X-games, head on over! Sometimes can be cold and a pretty big crowd, but TV can't quite communicate how high these guys actually go! A really easy trip from town to Buttermilk - and plenty of public transport. Great experience everyone should see once. Be sure and bring your Red ...
