Luau Central – land of Hawaiian shirts and khaki pants, we have arrived! The Maui Lu specializes in the quintessential Luau experience. It is set up for a big crowd. More of a landing pad for people coming and going for evening entertainment or other adventures than a high-class destination resort. Rooms are ultra retro (not intentionally!) but well maintained. Staff was very jolly. A simple, large swimming pool was a great hangout, especially because the hotel is not right on the beach (but very close). There’s something a little back woods about the Maui Lu that I liked. Perfect if you’re on a budget and need a decent place to crash that is centrally located. There's super easy access to activities like incredible whale watching, affordable restaurants, boogie boarding and kite surfing.Recommended for:

Centrally located in Kihei, the Aston Maui Lu is the perfect destination for those looking for instant and easy access to all of the best attractions and activities found on Maui. With that in mind, one would think that this hotel has to be located in a horrible part on the island. NOPE! It's actually quite the opposite. Let's be honest... Kihei is not considered the most beautiful part of Maui, but if one looks long and hard enough, they can and will find some secret spots, which is exactly where "The Lu" is located - in it's own, little, secluded, tree-lined and beach-side area. On top of that, it offers its guests a parking lot, two tennis courts, a large swimming pool (in the shape of Maui... awesome!) and two private beach coves to frolic on.
