The hotel has gone through a remodel in the past few years, and is conveniently located across the street from Waikiki Beach and has a great view of Diamond Head. The hotel is definitely more hip and fun, so it caters to a younger clientele. Tiki's Grill and Bar is located here, which is a good spot to hang out and get a few cocktails. The rates are pretty reasonable, and while we had a pretty nice partial view of the ocean on the 21st floor, our room was a bit small (the decor was cute though). Downstairs, there's a Wolfgang Puck Express and Coldstone. There's also a Starbucks and ABC store nearby and 24 hour Lulu's is next door.

The Aston Beach Waikiki is a mid-sized, family-friendly hotel with a festive atmosphere and central location right on Waikiki’s main strip. And, it’s just across the street from a very swimmable section of Waikiki Beach. Surfboard signage, tropical themes and punchy Hawaiian prints dominate from the lobby to the guest rooms, adding plenty of personality to otherwise unremarkable cement-tower architecture. Standard rooms are on the small side, but they’ve been fairly recently remodeled. Some (such as high-floor west- and south-facing rooms) have amazing ocean views. The lobby-level pool’s also on the small side and frankly feels a bit overcrowded. Local folks and visitors both hang out at the hotel’s open-air, castaway-themed Tiki’s Grill & Bar, with Island-style dishes and live entertainment. For a lighter and more affordable to-go-style meal, try Wolfgang Puck’s, on the ground floor.

A nice hotel at the end of Waikiki near Queen's Beach. Cool surfboards, bamboos, tiki statues, and tropical theme throughout the hotel. There's Tiki's Bar & Grill restaurant on the second floor, a few restaurants and shops downstairs, and many other eateries and stores nearby. Staff is friendly, rooms are decent with Hawaiian island decor, and a plus if you get ocean view.

Stayed for our honeymoon that just happened to coincide with a storm. The staff was great and even upgraded our room to an oceanview suite on the top floor, because it was our honeymoon. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Only thing lacking was the free breakfast which didn't have that much variety...at least in 2008.

Located across from the beach with a breezy, open lobby and a welcoming, spacious pool area opposite the front desk. The pool is very active with families having fun. So some might find the noise a bit too much. The room wasn’t very large, but quite stylish with bright, cheerful colors and a big flatscreen that was equipped with gaming and complimentary internet access. The good sized lanai with a partial-ocean view faced west and overlooked the pool, with the famous Royal Hawaiian Hotel and beach coast in the distance. Very friendly and helpful service. Off the lobby is a warm and inviting restaurant/lounge, Tiki’s Grill & Bar, with good island-style food, great live music and hula. And their signature complimentary Breakfast on the Beach with live entertainment is very nice.Recommended for:Family Travelers
