Astor Quest Hostel

The Astor Quest Hostel is covered in artwork by former guests and has a homey, casual feel. Activities like Sunday Roasts and bowling are a central part of community life. I loved the location which is a stone's throw from Hyde Park and on a street of Georgian rowhouses. The staff's photos are displayed at reception so you know just ...

When I was visiting London with a friend who grew up there, we happened upon this restaurant, which everyone raved about. Not only does it have fabulous seafood (the lobster noodles are the big favorite), but all the seafood and shellfish you could ever want.

One of the best places in London for real ale and Thai food. Get in there on a cold, wintery night and get a seat next to the open fire.

The almond croissant here was so rich and decadent I am not sure whether I will recover. Great little bakery and artisanal chocolatier. Drop in for coffee and a pastry. A bit pricy but worth it, especially if you have a sweet tooth.

This is a great little gastro-pub and I loved my oysters and welks and could easily crave the cow's perfectly cooked steak. We sat downstairs--(upstairs seems less appealing)--and there was a little bit of a wait for a free table, but the food was definitely worth the wait. The Cow is first rate and I will absolutely be back.

A sophisticated taqueria. Tostadas, tacos and enchiladas. The ceviche is great. This is not a tex mex joint so you won't find a burrito on the menu. Food is good. Atmosphere is ok but not super comfortable.

    The Victoria Pub

0.61 mi from Astor Quest Hostel

Potentially, the most stunning traditional Victorian Pub serving good classic pub dishes in London. Its memorable interiors include the main bar and two upstairs rooms: the theater decorated with parts of the old Gaiety Theatre along with a quaint, paneled Library. It was named the Fuller’s pub of the year in 2009. The site is an authentic landmark!

this is a bizarrely decorated place - it looks more like a dollhouse or ice cream parlor inside, with lots of frills and mirrors, much brighter than your average English pub - but serves everything you would expect in a bar or pub. There is an eclectic mix of couches and seating - plus a fireplace if you want to ...
