I love this place. delicious traditional French food (we had the guinea fowl and steak au poivre) served in a warm and unassuming atmosphere just a block from theatre odeon. Place is about 150 years old and it's possible some of the staff has been there almost that long. Don't miss it!

A good meal is certainly about more than the food. A lover of literature and good food, my sister had heard of Polidor, a favorite of Gide, Joyce and Hemingway, and it was said to have great pie. Arriving early we had the long "family style" table to ourselves just briefly. We were joined by a lively group speaking English and French. Soon we were all enjoying our meal together, and got along so well we made a date to join our new friends in their nearby apartment. It made our entire visit to Paris that much more exciting. The food? I'm sure it was good. And the pie too. But its not the dishes I remember, but the people we met.
