The 2nd highest natural point of Auckland. Initially I have my reservations in going up as it seems like there are nothing much to do up there but my view changed slightly after being there. It's true that there are nothing much to do there but the view is pretty nice so I have quite enjoyed my time there.Popular with

Sky Tower is the tallest structure in Southern Hemisphere. Views are amazing but revolving restaurant is overpriced and food was not great - you'll not miss a lot by skipping it. We did not do SkyWalk but it looked like a lot of fun.

The Auckland Harbor Bridge isn't much to look at and isn't as impressive as many other harbor bridges, but I got to run over it as part of the Auckland Marathon. There are great views of the harbor and skyline that you probably can't appreciate as you are driving.Popular with

OTH is one of the many extinct volcanoes in Auckland. From here you can see the Auckland skyline, the nearby islands as well as go to the park below to shoot archery or hang out with the sheep. Beware - it's REALLY windy up here!Popular with

The New Zealand National Maritime Museum has an extensive collection of Polynesian sea vessels. Considering the Polynesian people traditionally and impressively traveled by small boats (like the one in my picture) large distances between the pacific islands this museum holds great significance to the most recent indigenous culture of New Zealand. Normally a maritime museum might not excite me but ...Popular with

You do a cable jump from the nearly 300-foot tower, but it is pretty costly and, quite frankly, it is not worth the expense. This is not a bunjee jump. You are harnessed between two cables running the height of the tower, so no possibility of swinging (and smacking into the tower). If you consider the fall lasts only about ...

The very first time I tried sauvignon blanc was at one of the local wineries, I fell in love with it immediately. Beautiful scenery and great wine!

There is not a bad seat in the house here. I came here to watch a T20 match between England and New Zealand and could see the field fairly easily. Restrooms are also easily accessible. Parking is tough as you'll be walking through the Mt Eden neighborhood to get to the stadium.
