The Aura Cozumel is small all-inclusive resort located on the southwestern side of the island. It’s a good option if you’re looking for an adults getaway with a few extras like exclusively ala carte dining (no buffets here), top shelf drinks, and nice views. The rooms are modern, a bit pastel for my taste, but comfortable nonetheless. If you can swing it, get a room with direct access to one of the pools (as in, open your porch door and step in). The grounds are lush and the service is relaxed but relatively attentive. All in all, though the resort lacked some ‘wow’ factor, especially given the rack rate, it’s still a nice place to spend a few days.

I’d rate this as an “okay” all-inclusive resort: not awesome, not awful. It’s a fairly small resort, which I like. The main swimming pool is clean and calm, while a “lazy river” makes a large loop in front of several higher-priced room blocks, offering front door pool access. The beach is pleasant, with plenty of lounge chairs arranged under tall palm trees. The fact that it’s a real beach—and not iron shore filled in with sand—is definitely a mark in the Aura’s favor. The standard rooms have balconies and ocean views, but are pretty bland in their décor. Nothing really jumps out as a problem, but there’s not much in the way of pizazz either. I wouldn’t come here for my honeymoon, but if you find a good deal, this would make for a just fine vacation.

I <3 Aura Cozumel. Simply Amazing! Huge rooms, great views, and just absolute service everywhere you turn.
I would never say a Mexico Resort was "luxurious" but there definitely was a strong sense of class that I didn't receive at other Mexican resorts.
Cozumel is a place you NEED to visit and when you do ... I'd strongly recommend staying at Aura!Recommended for:Luxury Travelers
