    Whole Foods Market - Lamar

The headquarter location offers something to drink or eat to suite anyones fancy and budget along with indoor and outdoor roof-top seating. Located downtown, it's a great place to refuel after an outing on the lake. Make sure to walk through the beer cooler to cool off fast on those hot days. In the winter, they put a ice rink ...

    Home Slice Pizza

    53 reviews

There's more and more high-quality pizza to be found in Austin nowadays, but it's hard to find a more popular spot than Home Slice. It's great for a sit-down meal for big families or groups of friends or just a quick slice to-go from their convenient walk-up location, located just next door to the main restaurant on South Congress Avenue. ...

    Hopdoddy Burger Bar

    50 reviews

The burgers here are great. They have gluten-free buns, bean burgers, and even really great salads. They strive to use local foods and farms (even their sodas are local).

    Torchy's Tacos

    46 reviews

They've got tacos for Democrats and Republicans in the capital city. With multiple locations, this is one of the fastest-growing taco micro-chains in Austin. With politics aside, I side with the Democrat taco (shredded barbacoa beef). But they have something for everyone, including fried avocado. It's a pretty no frill place to eat, but the tacos are amazing.

    Uchi Restaurant

    43 reviews

Fresh and beautiful pieces of fish, as to be expected. The presentation is definitely photo-worthy though you will pay for it. This is a very "in" spot so I tend to stay away and opt for something less crowded.

    Franklin Barbecue

    38 reviews

One of the iconic BBQ places mentioned in every TV food special on BBQ in the US! It's worth going at least once in your life, but you definitely have to plan to get there early and wait in line before they open. They close when they sell out and sometimes they can sell out as early as 2PM! Their ...

    Stubb's Bar-B-Q

    42 reviews

This is a great downtown location for real Texas barbeque in a casual & friendly setting. I recommend the "all you can eat family style meal" for groups (but your whole group has to order it). It includes potato salad, cole slaw, pinto beans, assorted condiments & your choice of three meats. I also like the combo plates, especially with ...

    Kerbey Lane Cafe

Kerbey Lane used to be one of my favorite Austin restaurants. Unfortunately I think their food isn't as good anymore, or maybe my nostalgia just wore off. They seem to be more focused on catering to what is trendy and cool rather than on food quality.

    Hula Hut

    27 reviews

To me, the best thing about Hula Hut is the location-- second is the food. Right on the water west of MoPac in downtown Austin, the dining experience is great. Food is Tex-Mex based with oversize portions. Fun place to meet for drinks and split an entree with out of town guests.

    Shady Grove

    27 reviews

Styled as a retro type of campground setting, Shady Grove is a kick back place to enjoy good food and live music. The tamale cakes are yummy . The nachos were a nice snack item and not super heavy. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

    Hey Cupcake!

    24 reviews

If I had an Airstream, I'd also convert it into a cupcake trailer! The shiniest and prettiest food truck parked in the main food trailer park on South Congress, Hey Cupcake serves up giant, moist cupcakes that will satisfy any sweet tooth. Their red velvet and carrot cake cuppies are divine.

Amy's Ice Creams - South Congress

Best Ice Cream In Soco! The Mexican Vanilla is creamy, thick and mouth watering. A bit pricier but this is not just ice cream, it's an experience.
