    Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns

    Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns

    Hotel Class:
    4
    4 reviews

I am really fond of Shangri-La Hotels and their branches around the world. Not that I partake of all the amenities that they have to offer. I go to a city to experience the city, and as much as I would love to check out everything this Shang had to offer, my time was short and the city beckoned to ...

Love the name of the hotel! Great location in the city and it's a close walk to Darling Harbour. The rooms are nice and clean. We had free breakfast buffet that came with the room, so you might want to call the hotel to see if breakfast buffet is included with the room. Great service and staff! If you want ...

Very nice motel. Stayed in Room 215 in the north wing which was comfortable and quite. Very central location with Wynyard Station just across the road. Had the buffet breakfast at the motel one morning which was a little pricey (we are members of the Accor Club which means 1/2 price meals and kids eat free).

    Charlotte Plains

    1 review

This is the place to feel the "Outback Magic". Charlotte Plain is an authentic working sheep and cattle property (half the size of Singapore) 54km east of Cunnamulla. Owner Robyn Russell invites guests to her land. They have accommodation, camping spot, hot Artesian Basin bore bathing area, small museum, and also offer historic station tours and give you chance to ...

    Emporium Hotel

    Emporium Hotel

    5
    3 reviews

The Emporium Hotel is just sensational! It doesn't have a restaurant like typical hotels, but the menu and service is in a league of its own. In a restaurants place, it has a wine bar, with a selection so extensive that you will never be "settling" for a wine. The staff are highly attentive, but intuitive, they know when to ...

    Art Series - The Cullen

Another entry in Melbourne’s “Art Series,” hotels, the Cullen has a pronounced presence in the surrounding Prahran area. The Art Series hotels, intended to fuse an artist’s aesthetics with the decor of a hotel, already has an installation in Prahran (The Olsen) but the Cullen is its own creation. Designed with artist Adam Cullen in mind, the Cullen is a ...

    Victoria Hall

    Victoria Hall

    Hotel Class:
    4
    4 reviews

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Space Hotel, given that I approached it with the impression that it was little more than a backpacker haven. At first, this seemed like an accurate descriptor: the lobby is also an internet cafe and is plastered with brochures for tourist activities and cheap eats. However, despite the number of very ...

    Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

    Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

The fake-Frenchness of its staff notwithstanding, the Sofitel in Melbourne’s central business district has an air of ease, openness and class that can be difficult to find among its five star competitors who seem intent on making their hotels feel like board rooms. The hotel’s key feature is in fact the Sun: the centre of the hotel is open air ...

    Sydney Harbour YHA

Just like the archeological site this hostel sits on top of, the Sydney Harbour YHA is an absolute gem of a find. Located on the hilly part of The Rocks, this ‘open plan living’ industrial design hostel offers more than just dorm rooms and bunk beds. Family, twin and double rooms are available and some even come with harbour views. ...

    The Darling

    The Darling

    4.5
    3 reviews

Was a little apprehensive about this place before arriving as it's part of the Star Casino complex in the rather sterile, corporate development that is Darling Harbour. If you can accept that there's nothing which speaks to the city's heritage within a one-mile radius then you'll be happy enough. For a city where many of the hotels just don't try ...

    InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

    InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    3 reviews

No hotel I’ve ever been to compares to the Intercontinental on Melbourne’s Collins Street, but not because of its friendly staff or even its astonishing rooftop herb garden, which even has its own beehive so that the honey at breakfast is extra fresh. What is striking at the Intercontinental from the moment you enter it is the building’s architecture and ...
